Pondicherry's coast is its main attraction: the Promenade Beach for a sunrise walk, quieter stretches further out, and seafood and cafés in between. Staying close to the water means you can drift out in the cool of the morning and be back before the heat.
The stays below are ordered by distance to the Promenade Beach, measured from each property's own map pin. Distances are straight-line estimates, so check the property page for directions.

October to March is the popular, cooler season.
The Promenade is a rocky seafront that is lovely for walking and sunrise, not for swimming. For sandy beaches, visitors head to Paradise Beach (a short boat ride from Chunnambar) or Auroville Beach, and should always follow local lifeguard and flag guidance.
October to March is the most popular season, with cooler and drier weather. April to June is hot, and the northeast monsoon brings the heaviest rain between October and December, so check the forecast before you travel.
